Sonsonate Grill
If you’re in Los Angeles and craving some authentic Salvadoran flavors, Sonsonate Grill is the spot to check out. Located at 5011 S Western Ave, this casual restaurant offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for a quick bite or a relaxed meal with friends and family. The restaurant has a moderate noise level, making it ideal for groups or even a family dinner, and it's especially good for kids!
One of the standout dishes you must try is the Carne Asada—succulent, grilled beef that’s tender and full of flavor. Another favorite is the Tamal De Gallina, a traditional Salvadoran tamale stuffed with chicken and wrapped in banana leaves. If you’re in the mood for something more hearty, you can’t go wrong with the Pupusas Revueltas. These thick, handmade tortillas are filled with cheese, beans, and pork, then grilled to perfection. It’s the perfect comfort food! Pair any of these dishes with the crispy Tortilla Chips and sip on the refreshing Jugo De Ensalada, a delicious Salvadoran fruit juice that’s both sweet and tangy.
The vibe at Sonsonate Grill is laid-back, with friendly staff and a family-friendly environment. Whether you’re stopping by for lunch or grabbing a bite with a group, you’ll feel right at home. The space is spacious enough for gatherings, but you’ll also find it cozy enough for a more intimate meal.

Maravilloso servicio y buena comida. Un poco de espera, pero las porciones son grandes. Wonderful service and good food. Bit of a wait but the portions are large.
Amazing food! Everything was so delicious , the beans were my favorite I absolutely have nothing bad to say about it. Only thing is the tables are crowded and it's a little squished . If they took tables out and had people waiting I think it would be better . There was no wait for us and it was truly delicious and authentic !!! Must try, trying next location next
The only reason this place doesn't get 5 stars is because of the CASH ONLY policy. They really need to be changed but they give you straws so all good there. The Horchata brings me back to my childhood. They give you a tortilla cut like fries with guacamole as a starter. It was quite yummy. The pupusas were bombastic. OMG it's been so long since I've had a good pupusa. Living in Vegas makes it difficult to find something this good.
Best pupusas i have had in a long long time great horchata great free bean and guacamole chips great service and great breakfast.
